About NOL Card Balance Online

Why this site exists

Search for a NOL balance check and you land on a dozen near identical pages that promise an instant balance, take your card number and then dump you on the RTA homepage without it. Nothing is stored, nothing is checked, and the tools that sit alongside them run on invented fare tables. We rebuilt three of the most popular calculators and found three different sets of zone numbers on one site, none matching RTA's map.

This site takes the opposite approach. It says plainly that no website can read your balance, because RTA's form is protected by a robot check verified on their own server. It then does the useful part properly: validate the tag ID the way RTA does, copy it so the paste is one tap, and hand you to the official page with your other tab still open.

What the tools do

Seven tools run on one shared data set: a balance check, a fare calculator, a route planner, live metro timings, first and last train times by station, a zone lookup and a pass break even calculator. Because they share an engine, the fare the calculator quotes is the fare the route planner quotes, and both trace to the same RTA table.

Around them sit 66 stations with their zones, codes, former names and interchanges, the full RTA fare and pass tables, top up rules for twelve channels and the official penalty list.

How we build and verify it

Every number on this site comes from an RTA page or PDF, stored in a data file with its source and the date it was fetched. Nothing is typed into a template. Station zones are read from the rail network map published December 2025. Journey times are derived from the RTA metro and tram timetable rather than estimated, which is why a full Red Line run shows the same 79 minutes RTA prints.

A suite of test cases runs on every build, checking fares, zone counts, route times and the tag ID rules against known values. If one fails, the build stops. Where a figure is not confirmed by a current RTA page, such as the daily fare cap from the 2014 tariff revision, we label it rather than presenting it as fact. The editorial policy sets out the whole process.

Who runs this

A small editorial team that builds and maintains transport tools. We are not affiliated with the Roads and Transport Authority, we do not act for them, and we cannot access your NOL account. The site is funded by advertising, which has no bearing on what the data says.

Corrections

Fares change, stations get renamed and timetables are reissued. If you spot something out of date or wrong, tell us and it gets fixed, usually the same week. Report an error with the page and the figure you saw.
