Dubai Metro timings this week

Four of the seven days share the same schedule. Monday to Thursday and Saturday the metro runs 05:00 to 00:00. Friday extends to 01:00 for the late evening crowd. Sunday is the one day that differs at the start: trains begin at 08:00, three hours later than the rest of the week, which catches out anyone landing at Dubai International early on a Sunday.

The tram keeps its own hours, 06:00 to 01:00 Monday to Saturday and from 09:00 on Sunday. Buses run 04:00 to 01:00, and route C01 runs around the clock. The tram guide covers its own route and fares.

What closing time actually means

The closing time on this page is when the station shuts, not when the last train leaves your platform. Those are different by a few minutes at most stations, and by much more at the ends of the line. The last train out of Expo 2020 towards centrepoint leaves at 22:44 on a Monday, well over an hour before the network closes, because it still has to run the length of the Red Line.

If you are travelling late, look up your own station on the first and last train tool rather than relying on the network closing time.

Ramadan, Eid and public holidays

Metro hours did not change during Ramadan in 2025 or 2026, which surprises people who expect a shorter day. Eid is the opposite: RTA extends service, running 05:00 to 01:00 across the holiday. New Year's Eve has historically run through the night. When an announced change is in effect, the live panel above shows it instead of the normal hours. Ramadan timings get their own page each year.

What this page does not do

  • Times are station opening hours; the last departure from your platform is earlier.
  • Holiday hours are taken from RTA announcements reported in the press and are labelled where shown.
  • Service can be suspended at short notice; the RTA app carries live alerts.

Estimates only, not official RTA confirmation. Check the gate display or rta.ae before you rely on a figure. Read the disclaimer.

Dubai Metro Timings questions

What time does the Dubai Metro open and close today?

The live panel at the top of this page reads your device clock and answers exactly that. As a rule: 05:00 to 00:00 Monday to Thursday and Saturday, until 01:00 on Friday, and from 08:00 on Sunday.

Why does the metro start so late on Sunday?

Sunday is the quietest morning of the week in Dubai, so RTA starts service at 08:00 instead of 05:00. Plan an early Sunday airport run by taxi or bus.

Do Dubai Metro timings change during Ramadan?

They did not change in 2025 or 2026. The tram also kept its normal hours. Bus timetables do shift, and RTA publishes those in the S'hail app.

What time is the last metro on Friday?

Stations close at 01:00 on Friday. The last train from your own station leaves a few minutes earlier, and much earlier at the ends of the lines.
